Introducing BPTD - What Is This Game?

Today, I'm sharing my first blog post about our game project, BPTD, which we’ve been working on for a while. In this post, I’ll talk about what the game is all about, the small team behind it, and our development process.

What is BPTD?

BPTD is a card-based strategy game that combines the backpack mechanic with the tower defense genre. When we were first forming our ideas about the project, our goal was to merge the newly popular backpack genre with the tower defense genre, which had never been done before. We wanted to try something new and take the first steps toward creating a fresh synthesis in this backpack genre. Naturally, as a strategic game, we believed that making it card-based would bring significant advantages both visually and mechanically, setting us apart from other games in the genre.

Who Are We?

BPTD is created by a passionate, young, and small team that loves gaming and creating new things. The development process has been full of learning, trial, and error, and through this process, we’re both learning and gaining experience. As Violet Interactive, our priority is to create a fun game for players, but we also believe it’s just as important to share our experiences with other developers, so they can benefit from them as well.

What Will Be on the Blog?

Although we don’t have a trailer or teaser yet, the blog will feature concept art, in-game screenshots, design notes, and posts related to the narrative. We plan to complete our first MVP by the end of this month, so we’ll soon be able to share more concrete content about the foundations of the game.

In short, the goal of the blog is to inform those interested in learning more about the game and share our development process with both developers and players. Feedback from you all will be extremely helpful for both the game and the blog!
